Once A Day Dynasty Play

A game of crowns, heirs and long memory

One turn a day. Each turn, a year.

Rule a dynasty on a living map. Give your orders, close the book, and come back tomorrow: a year has passed for every realm at once, and your scribe has written it down.

Free to play. A few minutes a day.

Two realms share a border. Neither crown has blinked yet.

How a day goes

Rule in minutes. Wait a year.

Nobody has to be online at the same time. The world moves once a day, for everyone together.

  1. Give your orders

Claim land, raise buildings, send envoys, muster armies, name an heir. Seal them whenever suits you.

  2. The year turns

At midnight every realm's orders are carried out together. Harvests come in, children are born, armies meet.

  3. Read the chronicle

Your scribe writes the year in the hand of the age: what you built, who you married, what you lost.

Your realm

A house meant to outlive you

Rulers age and die. What lasts is the house, its lands, and what the chronicle says of it.

Heirs and marriages

Arrange matches between courts, raise children, name an heir. A line that dies out ends the realm.

Land is a race

Claim the hexes around you before a neighbour does. Close your borders round a valley and it's yours.

Envoys travel with the year

Trade, marriage, peace and calls to arms are carried at the turn and answered the year after. Plan ahead.

War is slow and dear

Armies march, scout, besiege and go hungry. Soldiers want paying. Victories are remembered for generations.

Arms of your own

Design your house's coat of arms, from the field to the motto, blazoned as a herald would. Fly it on your banners.

A regent while you're away

Busy week? Your council rules in your name by standing orders you choose, and hands back the reins when you return.

The chronicle

Every year, written down

Each realm keeps its own chronicle, and it never forgets. Meet another court and you can read theirs too, as their scribes keep it.

The Ninth Year

Fields were ploughed in the Cressing Vale, and a farmstead raised beside them. New hearths were lit across Heronmark. Its people now numbered four thousand.

Envoys rode to the court of Calder bearing gifts, and at midsummer the Princess Aldreda was given in marriage to its heir.

Before the first frost the host of Wendmoor crossed the river. Far from home, it lost three hundred men to hunger and sickness on the march.

Being built in the open

What's coming

The world is in early testing. Here's what's next.

Soon

The forum and ideas board

Talk with other rulers, report bugs, suggest ideas and vote on what gets built next. One account for the game and the forum.

Planned

The Founder Pass

A one-time pass for beta players: membership for the life of the game, a founder's mark no one can buy later, and more say in what's built. Looks only, never an edge in the world.

The year turns tonight

Name your realm, crown your ruler, and claim your first lands.
